About This Tour
A climb into the highlands for the island's most famous view: Mount Batur and its crater lake seen from the rim at Kintamani. You take it in twice, first from the viewpoint itself, then from one of the terraced cafes built into the slope. On the way up and down the route takes in a coffee plantation, the sacred spring temple of Tirta Empul where Balinese Hindus come to bathe, a jungle swing and the Tegallalang rice terraces.

Hotel Pickup

Tegallalang Rice Terraces
Walk among the terraced paddies carved into the valley wall, still irrigated by the thousand-year-old subak water system.

Bali Swing
Swing out over the valley on one of the tandem or single swings, with photo platforms and nests set along the ridge.

Coffee & Chocolate Plantation
Learn how the highland crops are grown and roasted, then work through a tasting flight of coffees, herbal teas and fresh chocolate.

Batur Volcano Viewpoint
The full sweep of the caldera opens up from the rim at Kintamani: the black lava fields left by the volcano past eruptions, the cone of Mount Batur and Lake Batur behind it.

Lunch at a Crater Cafe
Balinese buffet or a la carte at one of the terraced cafes built into the crater wall, every table facing the volcano.

Tirta Empul Water Temple
Descend to the sacred spring temple where Balinese Hindus come for ritual purification. You are welcome to join the cleansing ceremony in the bathing pools. Sarong provided.
